LPN Education and Certification in Massachusetts
If you want to work as a licensed practical nurse in Massachusetts you will need to earn your LPN degree. After you have graduated you must become licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing before you can begin working as an LPN.
To become licensed you must pass the NCLEX-PN exam, which your LPN degree program will prepare you for. You must also become CPR certified to receive a license in this state.
The application for a license in Massachusetts will include an $85 fee and you will be asked to submit a copy of your LPN school transcript with your application.
As you work as an LPN in Massachusetts, remember that your license will need to be renewed every year. Throughout the year, prior to license renewal, you must finish 15 credit hours of continuing education. The classes you participate in must be approved by the board and may be available online.
