LPN Education and Certification in Missouri
To work as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in Missouri you will need to be licensed. The first step to qualifying for a license is earning your LPN degree. Licenses in this state are given by the Missouri Board of Nursing and have an $85 application fee.
Before you apply for a license you must pass the NCLEX-PN exam and become CPR certified. The application will require that you submit a copy of your LPN school transcript to the board.
In this state you must renew your license every two years if you want to continue working as an LPN. Unlike many other states, Missouri does not require licensed practical nurses to participate in continuing education classes in order to qualify for license renewal.
