LPN Education and Certification in New York
If you want to pursue a career as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the state of New York, you will first need to earn your LPN degree and pass the NCLEX-PN exam. Then, you will need to become CPR certified.
After you have fulfilled these requirements you may apply for a license, which is required for all LPNs in the state. The license application includes an $85 fee and you will be asked to provide a copy of your LPN school transcript to the New York Board of Nursing.
Remember that as you begin working as an LPN you will need to renew your license periodically. In New York, you will need to renew your license every four years. Part of the renewal process includes participating in a three credit hour continuing education class about infection.
