LPN Education and Certification in Texas
To work as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in Texas, you will need to be licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing. To do this, you need to earn your LPN degree first. After you graduate you will need to pass the NCLEX-PN exam and become CPR certified.
When you apply for a license in this state you will need to pay an $85 fee and provide a copy of your LPN school transcript to the board.
As you work as an LPN in this state you will need to renew your license every two years. Texas requires those who wish to renew their license to complete 20 credit hours of continuing education classes before renewal.
