LPN Education and Certification in Virginia
To work as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in Virginia you will need to obtain a license. Before you can qualify for a license in this state you must earn your LPN degree. When you graduate you will also need to take and pass the NCLEX-PN exam and become CPR certified.
After you have completed these requirements you can apply for a license through the Virginia Board of Nursing. When you apply you will be asked to provide a copy of your LPN school transcript and pay an $85 fee.
If you want to keep working as an LPN in Virginia you must renew your license every two years. You will not be required to participate in any continuing education courses.
